I decided I do want to write books, so here is the latest chapters of the one I am currently writing. (Fantasy and childish, yes, but originally for my friends younger sister who's 6,)
Have you ever woken up on a cold Winter day, and known in your heart that something magical was going to happen? Well, that's how Lilly felt now. It was late in the day, and Lilly could hear her Father's voice from downstairs. "Lilly, get up! It's already ten o'clock! My meeting is in 10 minutes. When I get home, this house better be spotless!" "Coming, Father." Called Lilly. She jumped up, grabbed her house shoes, and ran downstairs as fast as her legs would carry her.
"I'm sorry, Father. I forgot your meeting was today. I can make my own breakfast, if that saves you time." "No, Lilly," came the harsh reply. "You will have no breakfast. That is your punishment for being lazy. Now don't forget, I'll be home at 8:00, and when I am, every inch of this house better sparkle!" "Yes, Father. I wont forget." Lilly sighed. This was going to be a long week.
As her father left, Lilly picked up the broom and began sweeping the hallway in front of the door. Then it was the kitchen she swept, then the patio in front. Though it only took her an hour, it seemed like a year, and each minute the empty feeling in her stomach got worse and worse.
Finally, that was done. Though Lilly felt relieved, she still knew there was a big list of chores waiting in the kitchen. Lilly stepped inside and began reading the list. Let's see. I already swept. Now I just need to... wow, that's a lot! Well, better get started. I need to.... wash the dishes, mop, dust the furniture, find the remote, organize garage, make beds, clean rooms, dust fan, and do the laundry. Lilly headed over to the closet to grab what she needed. She pulled out a mop, a rag, some soap, a duster, some large plastic boxes, a labeler, and a bucket.
